Our client is a financial consulting firm that provides outsourced services for early-stage companies.  They are currently looking to hire an Accounting Manager in San Francisco, CA. 

Responsibilities:  The Accounting Manager is responsible for delivering outstanding accounting services to the client and will be responsible for networking and building lasting relationships with new and existing clients and act as the first point of contact.  The Accounting Manager will train clients on new systems and programs, prioritize accounting issues and deadlines, and delegate assignments to team members to ensure client expectations are met.  The Accounting Manager must be a strong problem solver, adaptable to change and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  The Accounting Manager will also be responsible for:

  • Acting as main point of contact for client and delegating accounting responsibilities across a geographically distributed team ensuring all tasks are executed properly and on time
  • Setting up hosted server access with Quickbooks Online and assist client with transition from other accounting programs
  • Implementing upgrades to client processes - including budgeting and reporting, payroll, inventory processes, and chart of accounts review
  • Clearly communicating and coordinating outsourced work to a geographically distributed team including A/P, A/R, monthly close, budgeting, payroll and financial reporting
  • Managing and resolving escalated and urgent issues and exceptions that cannot be addressed by accounting team
  • Organizing and attending on-site meetings, project collaborations and internal team meetings
  • Managing multiple client projects and deadlines and expectations
  • Implementing and suggesting best practices, documenting all policies and procedures and developing innovative solutions for client and internal practices
  • Training internal team members

Requirements:

  • At least 3-5 years of financial management and accounting experience
  • Experience working directly with clients, strong quantitative skills and advanced accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Familiarity with all aspects of finance and accounting across a range of different business types
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS-Excel and QuickBooks
  • Project management or account management experience within an accounting or financial services setting
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, act quickly to resolve issues, and adapt to ever changing environment
  • Strong problem solving and client service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • A CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred
  • Some travel required

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
