We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our client’s Finance team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$75k – $90k Annually, Depending on experience and qualifications
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Staff Accountant role will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. This role is crucial to ensuring the accuracy of financial records and supporting the company’s overall financial health.
Responsibilities of the Senior Staff Accountant:
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Conduct variance analysis and report findings to management.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Staff Accountant:
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software, ideally QuickBooks and NetSuite.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Staff Accountant:
- CPA certification or progress towards certification.
- Experience with cost accounting and inventory management.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
