Our client, a large retail company, is looking to add an Accounts Payable Clerk to their team. The candidate will join a fast-paced environment and a cohesive AP team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$18/hr – $25/hr
Position Overview:
The Accounts Payable Clerk will report directly to the AP Supervisor and be responsible for processing vendor payments, invoice data entry, check writing, accurate and efficient accounts posting, and report generation.
Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Clerk:
- Review invoices for documentation and approval prior to payment.
- Scan and file documents.
- Process new vendor setup requests (Domestic and International).
- Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and other transactions.
- Process intercompany invoice transactions.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and assist vendors with issues.
- Maintain vendor files and interface directly with vendors.
- Reconcile vendor statements and locate and rectify discrepancies.
- Match invoices with purchase orders and enter invoices in the accounting system for payment.
- Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms.
- Process check requests, enter manual checks, process credit card bills, and complete weekly check runs.
- Code all invoices to the correct GL accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing.
- Process high-volume purchase order and non-purchase order related vendor invoices.
Required Experience/Skill for the Accounts Payable Clerk:
- 1-3 years of experience in accounts payable.
- High-volume processing experience (150+ invoices daily).
- Experience with SAP HANA (or other major ERP systems) required.
Education Requirements:
- No degree is required.
