Salary/Hourly Rate:

$90k – $120k Based on industry standards and role responsibilities.

Position Overview:

The Distressed Analyst will conduct quantitative analyses of investment programs and financial data, focusing on distressed assets and specialty finance claims. The role involves evaluating companies as investments, collaborating with professionals across disciplines, and developing client presentations.

Responsibilities of the Distressed Analyst:

  • Conduct financial analyses related to distressed investments and specialty finance claims.
  • Advise clients on capitalization, sources, and timing.
  • Analyze the operational performance of companies facing financial difficulties.
  • Assess companies as investments by examining facilities and financials.
  • Collaborate with lawyers, accountants, and public relations experts.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Create technical reports and presentations using spreadsheets.
  • Employ financial models to assess the capital impact of transactions.
  • Evaluate and compare the quality of securities in relevant industries.

Required Experience/Skills for the Distressed Analyst:

  • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to conduct valuation and risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of distressed assets and specialty finance.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Distressed Analyst:

  • Exposure to restructuring, debt refinancing, or claims management.
  • Familiarity with risk management systems and scenario analysis.
  • Experience in green construction or retrofitting projects.
  • Advanced skills in statistical analysis software.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • An advanced degree or relevant certifications are preferred.
