Accounting Clerk

Our client, a reputable, Florida-based professional community management and consulting firm, is looking for an aspiring accounting professional for their Accounting Clerk position based out of either Riverview, FL. Salary/Hourly Rate:

$16 – $19/hr

Position Overview:

The Accounting Clerk will join a cohesive Accounting Department, reporting directly to the Sr. Accountant, and working between various systems. The Accounting Clerk must be technically strong, collaborative, and highly organized with an extreme attention to detail. This is a fast paced and high-volume Accounting Clerk position that provides extensive exposure to the functions of accounts payable, general ledger accounting and much more.

Responsibilities of the Accounting Clerk:

• Enter vendor invoices including but not limited to coding to the GL, scanning and attaching invoice copies to vendor ledgers
• Match invoices to checks, get approval, and distribute checks weekly
• Maintains W-9 logs including adding new W-9’s to a log and filing them in a designated location
• Preparation of monthly financial package for board member presentation on various Districts (Communities)
• Prepares and processes all 1099-Misc forms in accordance with the Department of Revenue requirement
• Handles vendor inquiries and research for variances, correct discrepancies
• Responsible for AP filing functions
• Performs and assists with miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications for the Accounting Clerk:

• 0 to 1 years of accounting experience (internships included); no experience will be considered based on job history
• Highly proficient in MS Excel (v/h-lookups, pivot tables, formulas, sum if)
• Proficient with Adobe
• Ability to meet deadline requirements and communicate effectively with non-accounting staff

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics is highly preferred
