Our client, a global leader in industrial real estate is looking to for an Accounting Manager to their organization in Newark, NJ.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$50 – $55/hr Dependent on experience

Position Overview:

The Accounting Manager will oversee the general accounting functions and staff in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and maintaining the general ledger. The Accounting Manager will monitor asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:

  • Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, resolving discrepancies
  • Work with auditors to fix any discrepancies
  • Will prepare and analyze financial reports by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements
  • Produce payroll by initiating computer processing, printing checks, verifying finished product
  • Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts, providing information for auditors
  • Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements and will need a strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Secure financial information by completing database backups
  • Performs ad hoc analysis
  • Will assist in training staff and setting goals/executing them in a timely manner

Qualifications for the Accounting Manager:

  • 5 to 10 years of accounting experience
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Excellent communication skills

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting field is required
  • Candidate looking to pursue CPA is a plus
