Accounting Manager

Our client, a commercial real estate firm, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Accounting Manager to join their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$120k – $150k

Position Overview:

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Accounting department, including supervision of Staff Accountants and the preparation and analysis of financial statements. This individual must have a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Preference will be given to candidates with a CPA or MBA.

Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:

• Oversee and manage the Accounting department, including supervision of the Staff Accountants
• Prepare and analyze financial statements including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Review and reconcile complex accounts including investments and leases
• Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting
• Prepare and file tax documents
• Assist with audits and other accounting projects as needed
• Act as a mentor and resource for Staff Accountants, providing guidance and support as needed

Qualifications of the Accounting Manager:

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with financial statement preparation and analysis
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required
• CPA or MBA is preferred
