Our client is a strong and stable, multi-state real estate firm that thrives on tradition and ethical core values. They are seeking an Accounting Manager / Real Estate to join their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$125-140k plus bonus.

Position Overview:

Th Accounting Manager / Real Estate will oversee the day-to-day activities of the corporate accounting team. This Accounting Manager / Real Estate will perform accounting and analysis functions associated with the preparation of monthly financial statements for the corporate entities and perform payroll functions.

Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager / Real Estate:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the corporate accounting team.
  • Drive improvements to the corporate accounting processes.
  • Involved in the weekly, monthly, and quarterly processes.
  • Oversee processing accounts payable and receivable and payroll.
  • Monthly close process.
  • Review and ensure that proper account reconciliations are being maintained.
  • Create/review monthly financial statements and standard analytical reports.
  • Provide analysis of variances between financial results month-over-month and year-to-date.
  • Assist with preparing the annual budget, tracking, and forecasting.
  • Review quarterly tax projections.
  • Review and proof payroll and respond to inquiries.
  • Assist in the annual renewal of the insurance program.
  • Maintain allocation schedules.
  • Oversee Worker’s Compensation audit.
  • Liaise with external Auditors for income tax returns and statutory audits.
  • Enforce internal control policies.

Required Experience/Skills for the Accounting Manager / Real Estate:

  • 5+ years of public, tax, and/or real estate management accounting.
  • Advanced Excel Skills.
  • Strong leadership, organizational & communication skills.
  • Strong accounting, quantitative, and analytical skills.
  • Detailed problem-solver.
  • Desire to succeed in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
  • Support SOX compliance.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • CPS is a plus.
