The company gives more confidence to employees and has been known to directly reward individuals for the effort. They are looking to add an Accounting Supervisor to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$110k (plus bonus)

Position Overview:

This Accounting Supervisor position is open due to the current employee being promoted. This position is managing a team of 8 people – 7 in office and one is full-time remote. The team they supervise consists of three AP, four AR, and one Billing Specialist). Our client is looking for an individual with advanced experience managing a team, inventory accounting, cost accounting, and inventory valuation within the Manufacturing, Distribution, or Supply Chain space. The Accounting Supervisor role is to oversee the daily functions of the Accounting department while mentoring and developing all employees to be their best. This position will be accountable for several core responsibilities within Accounts Receivable, Credit, Accounts Payable, and Supervision.

Responsibilities of the Accounting Supervisor:

  • Ensure branch AR is kept above a 95% with less than 2% of the AR over 45 days
  • Work with Operations to trend and eliminate bad debt and reserve / BNP.
  • Research and clear credits in as early as 30 days but no later than 60 days
  • Review journal vouchers for accuracy and integrity daily.
  • Review open inter-company balances (AJAX) weekly and communicate to Operations for timely resolution.
  • Ensure problem accounts are brought to the attention of management before they age over 45 days.
  • Communicate rate/billing issues to management to ensure timely resolution and exceptional customer service.
  • Approve OCL requests in the absence of DM making sure to adhere to CHQ credit policy.
  • Manage and process all BCR’s with the managers input.
  • Process deposits are daily as per the client remittance advice and ensure they are reconciled and scanned in e.doc the same day.
  • Communicate signs of credit risk to the DM as they arise and store communication in folder on the F Drive
  • Manage and ensure that all vendors are paid within the company’s terms and correctly
  • Reconcile and review vendor statements monthly
  • Manage W9s for all vendors per check list posted on insite and scan them into the GCI tool
  • Communicate operational issues to management to ensure that revenue is recognized in the correct reporting period.
  • Review the A/P report weekly and ensure it is kept clean of any items older than 60 days.
  • General supervision of work performed by employees.  Monitor work to ensure that all company standards are met or exceeded.
  • Take ownership of all areas of accounting and admin.

Qualifications of the Accounting Supervisor:

  • 4+ years of work experience Working Manufacturing, Distribution, Supply Chain, Warehouse industries experience
  • Costing knowledge and experience is a mandatory prerequisite. Candidates without this experience will not be considered
  • Audit experience (Big 4) not required but preferable
  • Strong Excel skills including pivot table s and V-Lookup
  • Strong communication skills and collaboration skills
  • Highly organized, deadline-driven, detail-oriented
