Accounts Payable Specialist

Our client is a liquor production and distribution company based in New Jersey and is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their Accounting team. This company is rapidly growing and looking for an individual who is motivated and can thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$22/hr

Position Overview:

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for the financial processing of transactions for the organization. This role will require an individual to be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment to ensure accurate, complete, and timely recording of processing invoices at a high volume. The Accounts Payable Specialist will also have the duties in daily bookkeeping and record keeping, financial reporting, and the preparation of tax records for financial audit.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:

• Matching, batching, coding, and entering invoices
• Entering, posting, and reconciling batches
• Updating and reconciling sub-ledger to the general ledger
• Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment, and other charges
• Monthly journal entries
• Weekly check runs
• Processing rush checks

Qualifications of the Accounts Payable Specialist:

• 1 – 3 years of experience in Accounting is required
• Strong math and critical-thinking skills are required
• Strong communication skills
• Experience with using QuickBooks or other accounting systems
• Strong computer skills utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite with a heavy emphasis on Excel
• Must have the ability to multi-task

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent experience
