Client Overview:

Our client is a prominent organization in the sports industry that supports the operations behind one of America’s favorite pastimes—baseball. Their team is now looking for a AP Accountant.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

 $32/hr – $45/hr

Position Overview:

This AP Accountant is best suited for someone who has shown long-term commitment in previous roles (ideally 3–5 years with a single employer). The ideal candidate for AP Accountant is someone with a strong  genera accounting foundation and exceptional Excel skills—there will be an Excel test as part of the interview process.

Responsibilities of the AP Accountant:

  • Process, verify, and reconcile invoices and vendor payments.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing team to ensure accuracy of purchase orders.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of vendor accounts and payment schedules.
  • Assist in month-end closing and journal entries.
  • Analyze transactions and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and organizational policies.
  • Work closely with other departments to support financial operations.
  • Provide support for audits and respond to audit inquiries.

Required Skills for the AP Accountant:

  • Advanced Excel proficiency (Pivot Tables, V-Lookup – test required).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office.
  • Comfortable working on-site full time without flexibility.
  • Professional demeanor and collaborative mindset.
  • Strong understanding of debits and credits.
  • Experience with accounts payable and purchasing.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables and V-Lookup (non-negotiable).

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
