Our client is an industry-leading financial investment services company located in Boston, MA. They are currently seeking an Application Support Engineer to join their team.

Position Overview:
This Application Support Engineer will be responsible for supporting issues and data inquiries and escalating them to internal teams as needed. This position will also include providing onboarding support for new applications, performing release management for non-proprietary applications, developing moderately complex reports, and working on firm-wide initiatives pertaining to the supported applications and related technology.
Responsibilities of the Application Support Engineer:
- Monitor system integrations and production systems issues
- Allow and grant access and user requests for financial systems
- Collaborate with internal and 3rd-party vendors to drive resolution of prod support / app support items
- Document status and resolution of incidents and problems
- Perform data gathering tasks in support audit and regulatory filing activities
- Support system patching and application lifecycle process
- Research and respond to data inquiries
- Assist with basic reporting and system automation efforts
Qualifications of the Application Support Engineer:
- 2 – 5 years of experience in an application support or similar technical support role
- Experience working in (and administrating) Windows Desktop and Server environment
- Intermediate Microsoft SQL skills
- Basic experience with scripting languages, including one or more of the following: JavaScript, VBscript, and PowerShell
- Experience developing reports with an enterprise report development tool (i.e. SSRS, Tableau, and Cognos)
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
