We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant Property Manager to join our team and contribute to our mission.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$25/hr – 28/hr
Position Overview:
The Assistant Property Manager will support the Property Manager in overseeing the daily operations of our low-income housing properties. This role involves tenant relations, property maintenance coordination, lease administration, and ensuring compliance with all relevant housing regulations.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Property Manager:
- Tenant Relations:
- Assist in the resolution of tenant complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Facilitate communication between tenants and management to promote a positive living environment.
- Conduct regular property inspections and ensure tenant adherence to lease agreements.
- Lease Administration:
- Assist in the processing of rental applications, lease agreements, and renewals.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately and maintained in tenant files.
- Coordinate move-in and move-out procedures, including unit inspections and deposit settlements.
- Property Maintenance:
- Coordinate and oversee maintenance and repair work to ensure timely completion and quality standards.
- Maintain records of work orders and ensure follow-up on pending maintenance issues.
- Assist with implementing preventative maintenance programs to preserve property value and ensure tenant safety.
- Financial Management:
- Assist with rent collection and ensure timely deposits of rental income.
- Help in monitoring budget expenditures and controlling operating costs.
- Prepare and submit required financial and operational reports to the Property Manager.
- Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local housing regulations and policies.
- Assist in preparing for and responding to inspections and audits.
- Stay current with changes in housing laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
Required Experience/Skills for the Assistant Property Manager:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in property management, preferably in low-income or affordable housing.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Assistant Property Manager:
- Strong understanding of housing regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with low-income populations.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Property Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
