Our client is a fast-growing, trend-forward fashion brand based in the heart of Los Angeles. As they continue to grow, they are looking for an Associate Buyer to join their dynamic team and contribute to curating their seasonal collections.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

Position Overview:

The Associate Buyer will support the Buying team in all aspects of product selection, purchasing, and inventory management for the fashion brand. This Associate Buyer will work closely with the Senior Buyer to assist in identifying market trends, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring product assortments align with brand goals and consumer demand. This role requires a keen eye for style, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities of the Associate Buyer:

  • Assist in the development and execution of seasonal buying strategies, in alignment with the brand’s vision and target customer.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products.
  • Monitor industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity to help forecast demand and make data-driven buying decisions.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and product opportunities.
  • Assist in managing purchase orders, ensuring that orders are placed in a timely manner and deliveries are on track.
  • Help analyze sales reports, inventory levels, and sell-through rates to inform future buying decisions.
  • Collaborate with the design, merchandising, and marketing teams to ensure product assortments and visuals align with the overall brand strategy.
  • Participate in pre-season planning, assisting with the creation of seasonal assortment plans.
  • Track and resolve any issues related to inventory discrepancies, stockouts, and damaged goods.
  • Attend market events and fashion shows as needed to discover new products and suppliers.

Qualifications for the Associate Buyer:

  • 2 – 3 years of experience in a buying or merchandising role, preferably within the fashion industry.
  • Strong understanding of fashion trends, product categories, and the retail buying cycle.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with buying and inventory management systems a plus.
  • Passion for fashion and a deep understanding of the LA fashion scene and consumer behavior.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field is required.
