Position Overview:

The Associate Chemist will assist the research and development department. The Associate Chemist will analyze raw materials and finished products and assist in the formulation of flavors, fragrances, cosmetics and over-the-counter products to be sold to consumers. The right candidate will be a great multitasker who is independently motivated. Responsibilities of the Associate Chemist:

  • Prep samples for, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation
  • Operate instruments like the HPLC, GC, LCMS as well as other instrumentation in a GMP setting
  • Analyze results from the instrumentation and make necessary updates to the testing protocol as needed
  • Maintain detailed record keeping in a highly regulated setting
  • Execute method transfer and validation protocols
  • Comply with current procedures, specifications, and methods

Qualifications of the Associate Chemist:

  • 0 -3 experience as Associate Chemist or QC or R&D analytical experience in a regulated industry environment (ie Pharma, Cosmetics, Consumer Goods, etc)
  • Industry or academic experience focusing on use of analytical instruments
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with others
  • Experience in a fast paced GMP/FDA environment preferred but not required (Academia experience will be reviewed)
  • A hands-on approach to solving problems
  • Work authorization; ability to work in the U.S. for any employer

Education Requirements:

  • Industry experience is prioritized over education
  • Candidates will likely have a bachelors or master’s in chemistry, Associate Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Science related degree
