Salary/Hourly Rate:

$20 – $28/hr Dependent on experience

Position Overview:

The company is looking for an Associate Chemist for a contract to hire opportunity. The right person will have experience working in the scientific industry in a hands on role in Quality Control (QC) or research. The Associate Chemist will have a friendly demeanor, professional work ethic and be able to work in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities of the Associate Chemist:

  • Calibrating and maintaining a variety of lab instrumentation
  • Following safety standards and regulations (GMP, GLP, OSHA)
  • Prepping, running and analyzing samples and ensuring the regular QC testing is conducted appropriately
  • Testing RAW Materials
  • Follow up with suppliers when samples are out of spec or not meeting quality expectations
  • Keeping a very detailed and industry regulated lab notebook and inputting data
  • Chemical and/or physical properties testing
  • Administrative or clerical support (occasionally)
  • Occasionally presenting data and findings to management
  • Oversee lab supply inventory, discard expired products and order new supplied as needed
  • Organizes studies for the day and is responsible for ensuring the Lab Technicians stay on task and are completing their work correctly
  • Completing and submitting lab documentation including COAs, SOPs and NCRs

Qualifications for the Associate Chemist:

  • 2 to 5 years+ of industry experience in a highly regulated environment doing Quality Control testing or Research & Development
  • A positive energy and enthusiasm for lab work
  • Experience with Raw Materials
  • An eye for detail and passion for science
  • The ability to supervise others and communicate clearly
  • The ability to lift samples and stock lab materials

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree Chemistry or Biochemistry related is required
  • Associate’s or Technical degree with additional work experience also acceptable
