Our client is looking to hire an Associate Product Developer to work closely with Design, Production, Customers, and Suppliers.

Salary/Rate: $50,000 – $65,000 annually

Position Overview: The Associate Product Developer will be responsible for managing the day to day functions in product development including; sourcing, costing, product management and sample follow-up.

Responsibilities of the Associate Product Developer:

  • Manage time and action calendar for appropriate categories/brand
  • Collaborate with Merchandising and Design on all corporate objectives
  • Establish seasonal sourcing strategies with Product Director/Manager
  • Communicate regularly with suppliers to proactively manage issues
  • Oversee all product development, sourcing, costing and production
  • Troubleshoot quality, production, price and lead times issues
  • Monitor invoices, debit notes, chargebacks and work orders submitted to and from suppliers
  • Negotiate pricing, terms and deliveries with customers, as well as damages and discounts as necessary
  • Track all showroom and salesman samples to ensure placement is timely, meeting the delivery targets

Qualifications for the Associate Product Developer:

  • Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to build strong, productive relationships as a salesperson, buyer and teammate
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent understanding of product development and manufacturing process
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite and retail math
  • Experience with a PLM system preferred
