Our client is a prominent law firm in Boston, MA. The firm has a variety of practice areas in finance, property, real estate, labor, tax, and trusts and they are seeking a Benefits Manager to join their team!
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$100,000
Position Overview:
The Benefits Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the benefits and leaves programs by providing white gloved service to our staff, improving existing programs, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and leading the wellness efforts and initiatives. The Benefits Manager manages the annual benefits open enrollment process, including all internal communications to employees regarding open enrollment and any changes and/or enhancements.
Responsibilities of the Benefits Manager:
- Leads the administration of all benefit plans, such as group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, and flexible spending plans
- Maximizes use of HRIS system and its benefits module to support and affect plans
- Assists employees with benefits questions and consults with appropriate vendors
- Conducts benefits orientation sessions for new employees
- Participates in annual vendor plan renewals: reviews and approves vendor updates and proposes edits where needed
- Conducts the annual benefits analysis by analyzing competitive and market data, identifying industry trends, and reviewing employee requirements
- Ensures compliance with existing and developing government benefits rules and regulations
- Processes and administers all leave-of-absence: medical, disability, parental, FMLA, and personal
Qualifications for the Benefits Manager:
- 5+ years of experience in administering health and welfare plans and leave policies (in a law firm or other professional services environment preferred)
- Knowledge of employee health and welfare plans, vendor relations, wellness programs, and leave administration
- Experience with an HRIS system (such as Dayforce, Workday, Oracle) preferred
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to form strong business relationships
- Exceptional customer service: ability to listen, critically evaluate situations, and provide relevant and practical advice/information in an easy-to-understand and empathic way
- Familiarity with benefit contract language and plan designs, all pertinent federal and state regulations, and filing and compliance requirements — both adopted and pending — affecting employee benefits and leave program
