Our client is a prestigious nonprofit organization that is focused on medical and scientific research. They are seeking to add a Benefits Specialist to their team on a contract to permanent basis, with expected conversion after 6 months.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$33 – $37/hr

Position Overview:

The Benefits Specialist will help with the administration of all benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, leave of absences, 401(k), and commuter benefit programs. The Benefits Specialist will also work with the Senior Benefits Specialist and others on additional projects as assigned.

Responsibilities of the Benefits Specialist:

  • Support benefits eligible employees using the ticketing system Service Now
  • Help coordinate open enrollment, including writing guides and answering employee questions
  • Manage ADA accommodation an leave of absence requests, and assist employees with benefits claim issues
  • Conduct benefits portion of new hire orientation
  • Perform quarterly audits of benefits-related data
  • Enter data and activity accurately into HRIS
  • Additional projects as assigned

Qualifications for the Benefits Specialist:

  • Full vaccination and booster against COVID-19 is REQUIRED
  • 2+ years in human resources area dealing with benefits
  • Previous support for open enrollment
  • Strong understanding of HR related legislation, programs, processes, and practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Zoom
  • Proficiency with HRIS, preferably Workday
  • Ability to commute into Cambridge at least twice per week

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but equivalent experience accepted
