Our client is an innovative global technology and software company with US office based in Greater Boston, and they are seeking a Billing Accountant to join their team!

$28 – $40/hr

Position Overview:


The Billing Accountant is responsible reviewing billing for customer orders, coordinating and sending invoices, and preparing AR account reconciliations. The Billing Accountant works across multiple departments to create reports, assist with audits and complete quarterly closures. This role is expected to last six months, with the potential to extend or become permanent.

Responsibilities of the Billing Accountant:

  • Prepare standard reports by analyzing revenue accounts
  • Prepare revenue and AR account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Work with internal staff to create ad-hoc revenue reports and participate in special projects as needed
  • Review billing for customer orders to ensure accurate processing of invoices
  • Ensure quality and efficiency of invoicing, and send them to customers
  • Support billing team in Pune, India (questions, review of work, etc.)
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve billing and collection issues quickly and professionally
  • Process VAR margin credits in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensure tax is accurately assessed on invoices and maintain accurate tax certificate files
  • Support internal and external auditors
  • Continually support and initiate process and system improvements

Qualifications for the Billing Accountant:

  • 3+ Years accounting and revenue experience
  • Very strong organizational skills with the ability to work with high volumes of data / billing and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with management and other internal groups
  • Experience using integrated ERP software (Siebel & PeopleSoft preferred)
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills, including the ability to do VLOOKUPS and use pivot tables in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial information, and present it to business contacts
  • Able to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Strong sense of urgency, and ability to meet quarter end deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Experience in external financial audit is preferred

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
