Chemist I

Our client is an established family-owned chemicals company that is looking to add a Chemist I to their QC department.

Salary/Hourly Rates:

$60k – $65k Depending on experience

Position Overview:

The Chemist I will perform wet chemistry and analytical tests on finished products and raw materials. This position would be Monday – Thursday from 6 am – 4:30 pm.

Responsibilities of the Chemist I:

• Perform wet chemistry testing on products including pH, SO3, hydroxyl value, and viscosity.
• Operate lab instruments including FTIR and Karl Fischer titrators.
• Identify any non-conformances and report to the appropriate supervisor.
• Calibrate and maintain lab equipment.
• The Chemist I will maintain accurate test results in the company’s system.
• Follow all company guidelines.

Qualifications for the Chemist I:

• Knowledge of wet chemistry techniques.
• 2+ years of related industry experience.
• Strong FTIR experience.
• Able to work well independently and in a team environment.
• Comfortable working with chemicals.
• Able to work Monday – Thursday, 6 am – 4:30 pm.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science is required.
