Color Assistant

Our client is seeking an experienced, creative, and detail-oriented Color Assistant to join their Private Label fashion company.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$65,000 – $70,000 Dependent on experience

Position Overview:

The successful Color Assistant candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining color standards and collections, as well as helping to create and execute color stories for each season. The Color Assistant will work closely with the Design and Merchandising teams to ensure that the colors used across all product lines are in line with the brand’s aesthetic and are suitable for the target customer.

Responsibilities of the Color Assistant:

• Develop and maintain color standards and collections
• Assist in the creation of color stories for each season
• Collaborate with Design and Merchandising teams to ensure colors used across all product lines are suitable for the target customer
• Monitor and analyze current market trends for color direction
• Create and present mood boards to showcase color stories
• Manage the selection and ordering of color swatches and color cards
• Work with vendors to source fabrics and materials
• Perform color and fabric analysis to ensure consistency
• Track orders and maintain accurate inventory records

Qualifications for the Color Assistant:

• 1+ years of experience in color management, textile design, or a related field
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Knowledge of industry trends and color direction
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to take initiative and think creatively
• Knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and production processes

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textiles or related field is required
