Salary/Hourly Rate:

$130k – $155k + 20% Bonus

Position Overview:

The Compensation Manager will be responsible for supporting the compensation program for Private Equity business globally including compensation design, modeling, and analysis, financial planning, competitive benchmarking, compensation planning/forecasting, and managing the year-end and mid-year compensation salary and bonus cycles. The Compensation Manager will need to collaborate with senior leadership including various business unit leaders, HRBPs, and members of finance.

Responsibilities of the Compensation Manager:

  • Participate in the development of the compensation strategy and related employee communications regarding compensation programs including the development of a competitive compensation structure and consistent approach to pay decisions for all levels across the organization
  • Collaborate with business units and HRBPs to provide leadership and guidance on annual compensation reviews, bonus planning, and equity grants as well as to develop competitive offers including base salary, incentive compensation, equity, etc.
  • Assist in all financial analysis and reporting related to compensation on the P&L, including annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, long-term planning, and liaising with the FP&A team as required
  • Exercise critical thinking and excellent technical & business writing skills to synthesize the results of complex analysis into salient points important to senior leadership
  • Make data-driven recommendations
  • Recommend appropriate solutions to specific compensation-related issues as needed to support the business
  • Manage and provide mentorship to junior compensation professionals to further the growth of the team
  • Create materials/spreadsheets on compensation and analysis for executive meetings and have the ability to attend and present when required
  • Preparation and distribution of monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc reports
  • Respond to compensation data inquiries from managers and employees throughout the organization

Qualifications for the Compensation Manager:

  • 5+ years of experience in an analytics-driven environment, that has provided a foundation in compensation strategy as well as a basic understanding of financial reporting
  • Solid understanding of financial concepts is strongly desired
  • Financial services industry experience (private equity or banking) is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Experience with incentive plan design, equity programs
  • A leader that can manage in and be agile in a fast-paced, hands-on culture with strong expectations on deliverables
  • Highly analytical experience coupled with the ability to execute and communicate
  • Ability to develop and adapt compensation strategies that deliver on the unique needs of the business
  • Strong analytic skills with the ability to gather key insights from quantitative and qualitative data to drive compensation decisions
  • Collaborative mindset with proven communication, presentation, and influencing skills – facile in developing PowerPoint slides that “tell a story”
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to manipulate, manage and formulate data in Excel (VLOOKUP, Indexing, Sumproduct, Pivot Tables, and Graphs/Charts)
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects at once, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information with discretion
