Salary/Hourly Rate:

$85,000+

Position Overview:

As the Demand Planner you will be responsible for generating and maintaining a rolling demand forecast while also supporting monthly S&OP process for assigned brands. The goal of the Demand Planner is to continuously improve service levels and simultaneously reduce finished goods inventory through accurate forecasting.

Responsibilities of the Demand Planner:

  • Create rolling 18 to 24 month SKU level forecasts that consistently meet or exceed the necessary accuracy levels that result in maximizing the utilization of working capital
  • Interpret all appropriate business intelligence in the development of SKU level forecasts that drive the financial reporting systems
  • Provide direction to Marketing in the development of long-term strategic brand plans Materials Management in the development of production schedules and inventory management, Procurement in the purchasing of components and finished goods and Finance in the control of the allocation of corporate resources
  • Utilizes a thorough knowledge of demand planning software to generate accurate forecasts with advanced forecasting modeling techniques
  • Supplement modeling methodology with excel spreadsheets to provide analysis critical to development of accurate forecasts
  • Develop and control the timely flow of monthly regular business forecasts for a 24 month time horizon by SKU for new, and existing products that drive plant production
  • Communicate a brand/category/franchise rolling 24 month RB and promotional forecast on a semi monthly basis to drive the financial reporting systems as part of the overall IBP process
  • Assess and communicate to Marketing, CBD, Finance and Operations any and all impact on regular business volume based on the analysis of promotional plans and overt customer actions (i.e. retailer inventory levels) using historical sales and consumption data
  • Produce reports that support a continuous analysis of actuals and developing consumption trends compared to forecasts
  • Develop total gross sales forecast built from individual unit forecasts by SKU that is used to drive monthly Demand Review Meetings with Executive Management, Marketing, CBD, Operations and Finance. The meeting results in a consensus forecast which is reported to the CEO, CFO as well as the Chairman of Revlon
  • Responsible for utilizing forecast models & techniques to improve forecast accuracy
  • Work with Business Process Director as appropriate to develop new systems to support modeling and flexibility for rapid change capabilities

Qualifications for the Demand Planner:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the best practices within the forecasting industry
  • Detailed knowledge of supply chain processes based on experience within a CPG company
  • The ability to manage the development of multi category SKU level forecasts for regular business and special events
  • The ability to interpret marketing and customer brand drivers into a total business unit forecast
  • The ability to direct prompt constructive action based on forecast deviations
  • A comprehensive understanding of a CPG marketplace, and distribution channels
  • Flexibility in initiating creative solutions to unforeseen challenges
  • Experience utilizing demand planning software solutions as well as spreadsheet/database applications for creating forecasting models and statistical analyses
  • Strong leadership and consensus management
  • Critical thinking skills required to analyze and interpret large volumes of data for developing fact-based business assumptions to influence consensus through effective communication
