Salary/Hourly Rate:
$65k – $80K Based on experience
Position Overview:
The Electrical Engineer will work within a close-knit team as well as with other engineering teams. They will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating components used in the welding process. They will identify components that make better alternatives, discontinue the use of less viable components, and evaluate existing components for multiple factors including environmental data. The Electrical Engineer will ideally have some exposure to supply chain but ultimately will need a strong interest in components used for welding. Relocation assistance is available for this position.
Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer:
- Analyze and provide professional reports on component characteristics including cost, environmental impact, availability, and quality
- Make risk assessments for components that are being considered or currently in use
- Proactively seek new components for use in welding
- Collaborate with R&D, Supply Chain, and other engineering teams
- Connect with suppliers to obtain necessary details on, or solve problems related to components
- Assist with management of component inventory and create RoHS reports
- Partner with contract manufacturers regarding quality concerns or audits
- Become a subject matter expert that can assist other teams with component questions
Qualifications of the Electrical Engineer:
- Experience (ideally in a professional setting) with hands-on lab equipment including multimeters and oscilloscopes is necessary for the Electrical Engineer
- Professional communication skills and proven ability to create analysis reports
- Self-motivated individual with a passion for solving problems
- Strong Microsoft Office skills with the ability to learn new software quickly
- Experience with or knowledge of components/materials or the supply chain process is highly preferred
- Knowledge of value propositions is preferred
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude that can work with customers
- Ability to work on-site 5 days a week (there may be some flexibility for remote work up to 2 days per week at times)
- Ability to work in the US for any employer
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- A similar engineering degree with related experience is also accepted.
- This role is not appropriate for a Ph.D.
