Employee Benefits Assistant Manager

Our client is a lead service provider of commute in New Jersey. They are seeking an Employee Benefits Assistant Manager to join their team!

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$30 – $35/hr Dependent on experience

Position Overview:

The Employee Benefits Assistant Manager assists with the administration of multiple health plans and life insurance benefits for active members, retirees, surviving spouses , and their dependents. The Employee Benefits Assistant Manager will also assist with new hire orientations, the open enrollment process, ensure the accuracy and timeliness of enrollments, and respond to health and life insurance plan inquiries from employees, participants, Labor, Union reps, and other interested parties.

Responsibilities of the Employee Benefits Assistant Manager:

• Assist in the administration and management of employee health benefit plans
• Manage productivity of consultant and vendor works
• Assist with the management of all aspects of the annual health benefits open enrollment process
• Coordinate activities as they relate to health benefits administration across various departments including pensions, payroll, human resources, and labor relations
• Process and approve health benefit plan documentation, including enrollment, transfer and terminations for employees, retirees, and their dependents

Qualifications for the Employee Benefits Assistant Manager:

• 1 year of applied experience in health and welfare benefits plan administration and understanding of health and welfare benefit programs
• Strong customer service, time management, communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and effectively with employees at all levels of the organization including management and union members
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point is preferred
• Public transportation experience preferred

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from a US Dept of Ed accredited college or university is required
