Our client, a very established, successful manufacturing company that specializes in helping their customers streamline their material handling processes and reinvent the way they transport goods. The company uses its technological leadership and knowledge to meet the needs of their global partners everywhere from the ocean, land, air, and even outer space! Currently, they are looking to add to the team and bring on a new Engineering Change Planner.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$80k – $90k
Position Overview:
As an Engineering Change planner, you will be expected to work in cross-functional teams to coordinate engineering changes all the way through the assembly process. The Engineering Change Planner requires strong data analysis and spreadsheet abilities in order to manage large data sets to support the manufacturing process and to trouble shoot any issues not allowing the scheduling and manufacturing processes to take place.
Responsibilities of the Engineering Change Planner:
- Implementing engineering changes to the shop floor
- Managing all data inputs that feed the downstream manufacturing teams (Bills of Materials, routings, Parts/Master Data)
- Converting Engineering Bills of Materials to Manufacturing Bills of Materials for all new product introductions
- Scheduling usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levels
- Communicating and coordinating with Production Supervisors and customer service
- Performing other duties as assigned by management that fall within the scope and level of the position
Qualifications for the Engineering Change Planner:
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel (V-lookups, pivot tables, charts, etc.)
- Microsoft Access skills including the ability to create and maintain databases that include input forms, queries, and reports
- Familiar with engineering functions (engineering documentation, change notices, and BOMs)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-departmental and lead cross functional activities
- 5 to 7 years of experience managing project management tools, working in change management processes, and leading team activities
- Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret changes to assist in Change Order Management
- Skilled in BPCS LX business system, MRP or planning system, and PTC windchill software is preferred
Education requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required
