Our client is specialized in Biotechnology/Medical Device and they are now looking for a Fabrication Technician.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$22/hr – $24/hr

Position Overview:

The Fabrication Technician will fabricate and assemble fill needles into finished products. This Fabrication Technician will be working with materials such as stainless steel, plastics, aluminum, brass, and other metals, meeting close tolerances on lathes, milling machines, and grinders using both English and Metric measurement systems. Tolerances range from ±0.002” to as close as ±0.0005”.

Responsibilities of the Fabrication Technician:

  • Follow established layouts and plans for fabrication tasks.
  • Read and interpret measurements using calipers, tape measures, and rulers.
  • Position parts in jigs, fixtures, or clamps according to layout marks.
  • Select, mark, cut, or bend materials as specified by work orders.
  • Set up and operate fabrication equipment, including hot air welders, mills, drill presses, saws, flange forming machines, tubing benders, ultraviolet curing machines, and lathes.
  • Assemble, bond, and/or weld components per work order specifications.
  • Record lot numbers for all products and materials used.
  • Monitor work for accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
  • Clean finished products using designated chemicals and non-linting wipes.
  • Test completed products using electrical leak testers, pressure/vacuum methods, and document results.
  • Balance individual responsibilities while contributing to a positive team environment.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage time to meet productivity targets.
  • Observe safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Experience/Skills for the Fabrication Technician:

  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, blueprints, BoMs, and quality documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with precision tools and follow detailed instructions.
  • Solid math skills including percentages, area, volume, and basic geometry.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Fabrication Technician:

  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to support company goals and values, adhere to policies, and complete administrative tasks on time.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED; or 4+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Technical schooling or certification in machining or welding is a plus.
