Our client, a private label company is in need of an Freelance Associate Technical Designer (open to work on children’s, tween, junior’s, or women’s). They are dedicated to delivering high-quality, innovative products that reflect the essence of their clients brands.

Position Overview:

The ideal Freelance Associate Technical Designer candidate will work on children’s Technical Design, & will play a crucial role in the technical design process, ensuring that our products meet high standards of quality, functionality, and design specifications. The Freelance Associate Technical Designer communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, product developers, and manufacturers, to resolve technical issues and ensure product integrity.

Responsibilities of the Freelance Associate Technical Designer:

  • Collaborate with design and product development teams to interpret design concepts into technical drawings and specifications
  • Create and maintain detailed technical packages, including tech packs, CADs, and BOMs
  • Conduct fittings, evaluate garment samples, and provide feedback for adjustments to ensure design intent, fit, and quality standards are met
  • Participate in identifying and implementing process improvements and best practices within the technical design workflow

Qualifications for the Freelance Associate Technical Designer:

  • Must be open to work on children’s, tween, junior’s, or women’s technical design
  • Proven experience in technical design within the private label and licensing industry
  • Proficiency in CAD software, Adobe Creative Suite, and PLM systems
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and technical drawings
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments
  • Detail-oriented mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Manufacturing, or a related field is required
