Grants Accountant

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$34 – $40/hr

Position Overview:

Grants Accountant is responsible for analyzing, auditing, coding, and processing revenue and expenditure transactions related to grants. The Grants Accountant completes the annual Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA), the Comptroller’s Directive Attachment 15 – Federal Schedules, and the Indirect Cost Recovery Verification (Attachment K).

Responsibilities of the Grants Accountant:

• Ensures that grants are set up properly and cost-sharing requirements are fulfilled
• Ensures that grant related revenues and expenses are recorded timely and accurately / Serves as a resource on grant administration and the overall technical resource on all grants
• Reconciles grants transactions from agency’s internal financial system to the Commonwealth’s financial system (Cardinal)
• Participates in and contributes to process improvements
• Serves as backup for other accounting functions
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications for the Grants Accountant:

• Two or more years of grants accounting experience
• Experience with a non profit organization
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
