Our client specializes in biological solutions for pharmaceutical companies and research organizations. They are seeking to add a Histologist to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$80k – $85k

Position Overview:

The Histologist is a research and lab-based role. The Histologist will aid in developing new procedures using animal and human specimens to increase the company’s efforts in producing more advanced research. The Histologist will have an opportunity to work with leaders in various research fields, including an opportunity to publish and apply for grant funding. The Histologist will wear multiple hats and have a team-oriented mentality.

Responsibilities of the Histologist:

  • Conduct research in immunology and immuno-oncology, with a particular focus on patient stratification and prognostics/diagnostics.
  • Design, develop, and optimize multiplex immunohistochemistry applications for the improvement of prognostic and precision medicine using cutting-edge technologies.
  • Work side-by-side with a team of researchers in designing, developing, staining, and imaging patient biopsy specimens towards the development of new and unique paradigms of histopathological evaluation utilizing AI, machine learning, and informatics. This work is highly suitable for publication in high-level journals.
  • Develop new multiplex procedures and analytical techniques in the fields of cancer, immunology, neurology, epigenetics, and various other diseases will be a main component of this position.
  • Conduct basic histology practices and microscopy, immunolabeling, and histological staining, including microscopy and image analysis.
  • Manage data interpretation and statistical analysis Perform optimization and troubleshooting of new techniques and multi-channel labeling.
  • Research and keep up to date on the latest in immunology/immuno-oncology.

Qualifications for the Histologist:

  • Extensive experience in standard histology practices including IHC, IF, confocal and widefield microscopy.
  • Good organizational and communication skills are required.
  • Experience with project management and imaging software is highly recommended.
  • Candidates should be eager to work in a close-knit team to accomplish exciting tasks to advance pharmaceutical and medical research. Experience with informatics is highly desirable, but not required.

Education Requirements:

  • PhD in Biomedical-relevant fields such as Immunology or Oncology with extensive experience in design and execution of research projects.
