Our client is a residential treatment facility based in Newark NJ. They are currently seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$18/hr – $20/hr

Position Overview:

The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for coordinating administrative duties for the Human Resources department. This will include answering phone calls, processing pre-employment requests, maintain employee data in database.

Responsibilities of the Human Resources Assistant:

  • Answering incoming telephone calls timeously, professionally, and accurately
  • Assisting in the administration and implementation of all employment processes
  • Providing general clerical support for the human resource management department
  • Maintaining data in the HRIS system and updating personnel, training, medical and ACA files
  • Assisting with the recruitment process, phone screening, scheduling interviews
  • Processing pre-employment clearance requests (BOP/DOC), reference checks, and any related employment correspondence
  • Preparing all new-hire packets and processing all new-hire information
  • Maintaining and updating applicant tracking log and performance appraisal spreadsheet
  • Assisting with the coordination of employee engagement activities
  • Distributing and posting internal company communication
  • Participating in staff training and development sessions
  • Maintaining clearing through contracting agencies

Qualifications of the Human Resources Assistant:

  • Experience using ADP
  • Experience in HR or Recruitment
  • The ideal candidate will have one year of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to establish priorities and manage different tasks at once

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree is required
