Our client, a manufacturing company in Bergen County is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to be responsible for all functions within the department including but not limited to; talent acquisition, the full recruiting cycle, orientation, on boarding, training & development benefits administration, leave management, compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and employee relations matters.

Salary/Hourly Rate: $45K – $55K DOE

Position Overview: The Human Resource Generalist will work Monday to Friday from the hours of 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Responsibilities of the Human Resources Generalist:

  • Facilitates the full cycle of recruitment, collaborate with hiring manager to effectively screen and select the most qualified candidate for interviews and hire, monitor the position control reports and requisition process
  • Coordinates background check, pre-employment drug screen, offer and on boarding processes in total
  • Maintains and continues to build relationships with local recruiting sources and agencies. Develops and recommends new sourcing opportunities to the HRD
  • Ensures completion of new hire paperwork in a timely manner, maintains I-9 manual for active and terminated employees
  • Maintains confidential employee files with all appropriate sign offs and disclosures
  • Provides support to management on employee relations matters and attend unemployment compensation hearings as necessary, submits and tracks workers compensation claims
  • Manages benefits training, enrollment, administration and termination in its entirety
  • Organize/input training rosters and new courses in the HR Smart (online education) system
  • Conducts exit interviews and sends feedback to the HRD
  • Participates in HR and Operational Committees and project teams as required
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization

Qualifications for the Human Resources Generalist:

  • 3-5 years of HR Generalist experience
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry  is a plus
  • Knowledge and practical application of all HR discipline and practices
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Experience in handling employee relations issues and dealing with labor laws
  • Well-developed written presentation, organization, and editing skills
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to contribute within a team setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have a positive attitude
