Position Overview:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties and works closely with all levels of employees across multiple offices. The Human Resources Generalist will provide guidance to employees and management regarding all HR related matters while ensuring high levels of customer service in a timely, accurate and effective manner. This is an open-ended contract.

Responsibilities of the Human Resources Generalist:

  • Partner with management to provide direction concerning day to day HR matters while maintaining HR compliance. This includes policy and procedural guidance, support, and interpretation
  • Develop and implement internal HR communication plans, programs, policies and procedures
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees on HR related matters including benefits and payroll while partnering with the benefits and payroll managers to ensure high level of service as the Human Resources Generalist
  • Responsible for the recruiting efforts for local positions designated to assigned sites including, sourcing and screening candidates, scheduling interviews and executing the employment offer process
  • Build and maintain a positive relationship with employees and Union representatives through active and transparent communication, fair and consistent application of policy, and labor agreements
  • Administer hourly employees’ employment terms and conditions pursuant to the local collective bargaining agreement, where applicable
  • Conduct workplace investigations and provide employee relations support to help promote a positive, productive work environment
  • Partner with management on matters related to performance management and disciplinary actions
  • Responsible for the complete offboarding process for assigned business units and locations which includes separation documentation and communication, conducting exit interviews and HRIS system updates
  • Create and maintain physical and electronic employment records of HR transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations
  • Prepare HR reports and perform general research and analysis of data as needed
  • Proactively identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance as the Human Resources Generalist

Qualifications for the Human Resources Generalist:

  • 3 to 5 years of Human Resources experience within the manufacturing sector or consumer packaged goods with a focus on Labor Relations

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business or Human Resources Management is required
