Our client, a pharmaceutical research company is currently looking to hire an entry-level Laboratory Technician to join one of their many successful teams.  This client has facilities across the United States and across the globe, spanning multiple areas of healthcare.

Salary/Hourly Rate:  $18-28/hr DOE

Position Overview: The Laboratory Technician is a long-term temporary position working with several Associate Scientists.  This individual will wear many hats and must be able to transition between projects within the lab.  The successful candidate is comfortable with cell cultures and multiple cell-based assays. 

Responsibilities of the Lab Technician: 

  • Participating in assay development and antibody characterization
  • Performing ELISA, flow cytometry, cell sorting, qPCR
  • Evaluating and testing program specific cell lines for biotherapeutic lead generation and screening
  • Participate in writing and reviewing of Study Documents: SOP, Validation Protocols, Validation Reports, Sample Analysis Reports etc.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment
  • Effectively using process automation systems and supporting business systems
  • Identifying and supporting continuous improvement initiatives 

Qualifications for the Lab Technician:

  • Knowledge of mammalian cell culture
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Familiarity with ELISA, cell cultures, cell based assays, PCR, Flow Cytometry, and gel electrophoresis
  • 0-5 years’ industry experience, but must have research experience from either an internship or independent research project

Education Requirements: 

  • BS/BA in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or similar
