Our client is seeking a Mammography Technologist to join their fast-paced practice! With over 300 locations in New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Central Oregon. Our client is seeking a Mammography Technologist who is committed to providing the best possible care to every patient in every neighborhood.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$38/hr – $45/hr Depending upon experience and other factors
Position Overview:
The Mammography Technologist will be responsible for adhering to radiation safety, providing high-quality mammography images, coordinating with radiologists, and documenting and obtaining patient history.
Responsibilities of the Mammography Technologist:
- Producing high-quality mammography images for interpretation
- Maintaining safety by utilizing proper exposure and protective measures
- Reviewing and explaining procedures to patients
- Following departmental protocol for procedures, unless otherwise specified by the Radiologist
- Obtaining and documenting patient history and pertinent information before imaging
- Adhering to proper identification protocols to all patients demographics in PACS
- Communicating with appropriate Radiologists and verifying providers before and after procedures
- Following infection control standards specific to patient care
- Maintaining and organizing work assignments and adjusting priorities based on changing business situations
- Preparing and safely operating medical imaging equipment
- Executing the Radiation Safety Procedures for self and others
- Checking if the quality of equipment is in acceptable condition by conducting routine quality control checks
- Following department protocols in the production of screening and diagnostic mammograms
- Adhering to regulatory guidelines and performing QA/QC, as mandated by ACR/ MQSA
- Delivering compassionate patient care with satisfaction as a priority
- Adhering to ALARA principles while delivering quality and safe patient imaging at all times
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work environment
- Performing other job duties as required
- Attending departmental meetings, as required
Qualifications for the Mammography Technologist:
- Maintaining an organized, self-motivated and efficient attitude, while working with others
- Demonstrating an understanding of mammography procedures for needle localizations and stereotactic biopsies, as required
- Demonstrating knowledge and compliance with safety, OSHA, and HIPPA regulations
- Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT) (R) is required
- Advanced registry in Mammography, (M) is required
- Must have current NY State Radiographer License in good standing
- Current BLS certification is required
- 2+ years of experience performing Mammography required
- The ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
- Must be familiar with and utilize an Electronic Medical Record System, RIS, and PACS System
Education Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
