Our client, one of the largest vertically run ophthalmology administrative services organizations in the mid-Atlantic region and a primary eye health care provider is seeking an Medical Assistant to join their team.

Position Overview:

The Medical Assistant will support the physician in a fast-paced environment. This Medical Assistant is a full-time position involving direct patient care, clinical tasks and administrative responsibilities. Nights and weekends required on a monthly rotating schedule.

Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant:

  • Obtain/document patient history
  • Greet/escort patients to exam room
  • Perform patients vision tests
  • Obtain all appropriate consent forms
  • Room set up for the physician; clean up following procedures
  • Stocking supplies Enter information into EMR systems
  • Review and file medical charts
  • Assist the physician with miscellaneous projects/tasks

Qualifications for the Medical Assistant:

  • Clinical experience within Ophthalmology preferred
  • COA or COT certification preferred
  • Progressive experience working in a medical environment, in a clinical capacity
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED is required
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
