Our client, a full-service corporate litigation firm, is looking for a Medical Malpractice Paralegal to join their team in Tampa.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$60k – $80k DOE

Position Overview:

The ideal Medical Malpractice Paralegal will be responsible for assisting Attorneys with the preparation for trial, research, and document management. Medical Malpractice Paralegal candidates must have strong written and verbal skills, a customer-service-focused approach, and an attention to detail.

Responsibilities of the Medical Malpractice Paralegal:

  • Conduct initial client interviews and gather relevant medical records and documentation.
  • Analyze medical records and identify key information pertinent to the case.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
  • Coordinate and manage discovery processes, including the preparation of interrogatories and requests for production.
  • Conduct legal and medical research to support case strategies.
  • Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including the creation of exhibits, witness lists, and trial notebooks.
  • Liaise with medical experts, clients, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progress.
  • Ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.

Qualifications for the Medical Malpractice Paralegal:

  • 3 – 5 years of experience in medical malpractice or personal injury law.
  • Defense/nursing home experience is a plus.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required for the Medical Malpractice Paralegal.
