Our client is a transportation, freight, and logistics firm that has been in business for 50+ years. This company has a profound financial history, encompasses significant growth trajectory, and headquartered in North America. They are looking to add a National Business Development Representative to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$80k – $120k plus Commission

Position Overview:

The National Business Development Representative will be responsible for building and maintaining a book of business from the ground-up. The National Business Development Representative will continue to drive sales through new business opportunities and managing current accounts. The National Business Development Representative will act as a hunter in the market to gain enterprise-level accounts and work with executives and C-Suite Level clients.  The trajectory of this role is to grow into a Director or Vice Presidency of the territory.

Responsibilities of the National Business Development Representative:

  • Find new customers to increase sales
  • Prospect clients via phone and in person meetings
  • Maintain and grow current customers to drive sales
  • Provide superior customer service to maintain customer satisfactions
  • Work in collaboration with colleagues and clients
  • Provide open and consistent communication with customers
  • Negotiate price with clients

Qualifications for the National Business Development Representative:

  • 5+ years of customer-facing transportation logistics sales is required
  • Encompass strong communication, interpersonal, and prospecting skills
  • Experience with Brokerage, FTL, Domestics, or Over the Road sales
  • Experience managing a book of business $4 million annually or greater
  • Experience building your own book of business
  • Having a hunter mentality to building and maintain a book of business
  • Ability to travel 25% – 30% for clients, trade shows, and conferences
  • Proficiency in TMS and CRM tools to create reports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel) is required

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
