They are currently looking to add an Oncology Nurse Manager to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$110k – $120k
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse Manager to lead and develop a team of remote nursing leaders and clinical professionals within a fast-paced, patient-centered, remote environment. In this role, you will oversee multiple Nurse Team Leads, ensuring they and their teams are equipped to deliver exceptional, efficient, and compassionate care.
Responsibilities of the Oncology Nurse Manager:
- Manage and mentor a group of Nurse Team Leads, providing guidance, coaching, and structured performance management to help them grow as confident and effective leaders.
- Support Team Leads in improving clinical team productivity, engagement, and efficiency through clear goal-setting, ongoing feedback, and accountability-driven management practices.
- Establish and track performance metrics across multiple nursing teams, using data to identify trends, remove barriers, and implement improvement initiatives.
- Serve as an escalation point for challenging clinical or member situations, offering sound judgment and reinforcing best practices to ensure patient-centered care.
- Build strong communication channels between leadership and frontline nursing teams, ensuring feedback and insights from staff inform operational and organizational decisions.
- Champion the consistency and adoption of compliant workflows and documentation, reinforcing high standards of quality and operational excellence across teams.
- Anticipate staffing and leadership needs, support succession planning, and cultivate professional development pathways for nursing leaders and their teams.
- Represent nursing leadership in organizational forums, advocating for strategies that enhance both care quality and workforce performance.
Required Experience/Skills for the Oncology Nurse Manager:
- 8+ years of nursing experience.
- 2+ years in a leadership role within a remote case management or complex care environment.
- Proven experience leading teams, developing people, and holding staff accountable to performance and quality standards.
- Skilled in designing and applying structured performance frameworks to improve team productivity, efficiency, and engagement.
- Comfortable using performance metrics and data to identify trends, measure success, and drive continuous improvement.
- Experienced in navigating organizational change and guiding teams through growth, restructuring, or shifting priorities.
- Willing to work alongside teams to solve problems, connect strategy to execution, and deliver strong operational outcomes.
- Familiar with virtual communication tools, electronic records, and productivity platforms. Eager to learn new technologies.
- Self-starter who identifies priorities, takes initiative, and follows through to completion.
- Demonstrates determination, accountability, and a consistent focus on delivering results despite challenges.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and an active, unrestricted RN license are required. Willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed.
- Professional certification in nursing or case management strongly preferred (e.g., OCN, AOCN, AOCNS, CCM, or equivalent).
