Salary/Hourly Rate:

Up to $50/hr Dependent on experience

Position Overview:

The Operations Buyer will handle full cycle Source to Delivery responsibilities. The Operations Buyer will be responsible for planning and executing proper replenishment, forecasting, and orders for inventory management to meet company goals.

Responsibilities of the Operations Buyer:

  • Have a good understanding when it comes to requisitioning, source selection, clip levels, contracting, expense approvals, PO release to ensure process integrity
  • Full ownership delivery of the Facilities Maintenance materials in a timely manor
  • Promote an environment that creates resolution of quality issues with appropriate internal team
  • Utilize ERP system in daily functions, including entering or changing pricing in the system in real time
  • Continuously manage on-going relationships with all network suppliers
  • Maintain an average REQ processing turn-around-time of two (2) working days
  • Maintain periodical KPI reviews to make sure that suppliers are providing a high standard of customer service
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency, cost savings, lead time improvement, communication, etc. through detailed communication with suppliers as well as internal team
  • Develop market data for new sources of supply based on cost, quality, capacity, and service
  • Mitigate risk with multi-channel sourcing, and alternative sourcing of high-risk components
  • Manage RFP projects by working with internal stakeholders and suppliers per the defined process, from pre-qualification of suppliers, bidder communications, project tracking, bid leveling analysis, selection recommendation, negotiation and contracting, supplier onboarding, to achieve optimal TCO (cost, service, & quality)

Qualifications for the Operations Buyer:

  • 5+ yrs experience in facilities management, MRO purchasing, and/ or indirect procurement experience
  • Must have experience with contract negotiation and supplier management
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills with the ability to create pivot tables and analyze data
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Competitive edge (looking to capture market share on product line)
  • Sales driven (help sales team win business)

Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred
