Our client, one of the largest vertically run ophthalmology administrative services organizations in the mid-Atlantic region is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join their fast-paced office. Our client has over 67 locations and is seeking a patient service representative who has prior experience in the health care industry, strong customer service skills, and is seeking career progression.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$22/hr

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a full-time Patient Care Technician to work directly with our patients, assist with any clinical tasks, and administrative responsibilities. The Patient Care Technician greets and escort patients into exam room, patient education regarding procedures to be performed.

Responsibilities of the Patient Care Technician:

  • Obtaining and documenting Patient Medical History
  • Performing patient work up, including all vision testing
  • Obtaining all appropriate patient consent forms
  • Setting up the exam rooms for the physician; clean up following procedures
  • Stocking supplies
  • Data entry into practice management and EMR systems
  • Overseeing patient flow in the reception area
  • Reviewing and filing medical charts
  • Assisting the physician with miscellaneous projects/tasks
  • Assisting the clinical department as needed
  • Compliance with all practice procedures and protocols

Qualifications for the Patient Care Technician:

  • 1 to 3 years of medical experience is required, Ophthalmology experience is preferred
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Previous medical experience required
  • Commute to other local offices required

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED is required
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
