Patient Service Representative

Our client is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join their fast-paced office.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$18/hr

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a patient service representative that can work well under pressure and takes initiative to problem-solve with little supervision. The Patient Service Representative should have a welcoming demeanor and will support the Office Manager.

Responsibilities of the Patient Service Representative:

• Greeting incoming patients and visitors
• Assisting the Manager in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed
• Entering patient data into PMS and EMR systems
• Filing medical charts
• Maintaining a clean and organized reception area
• Compliance with all practice procedures and protocols
• Patient intake and check-out procedures
• Scheduling patient visits and tests
• Collecting co-pays and balances
• General understanding of billing and insurance processes
• Requesting prior authorizations
• Interfacing with commercial and federal/state payers to verify patient coverage

Qualifications of the Patient Service Representative:

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Previous medical experience is required
• Commute to other local offices is required
• 1 – 3 years’ experience in a medical office setting is preferred

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred
