Our client is one of the most famous and beloved urban public spaces in the world. They have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Coordinator to join the Payroll team!
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$25/hr – $33/hr
Position Overview:
The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll for a diverse population of non-exempt and exempt employees. The ideal candidate for this Payroll Coordinator role will have experiencing processing payroll through ADP, leads with a customer service mindset, and is comfortable jumping in and learning!
Responsibilities of the Payroll Coordinator:
- Process bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees including overtime, garnishments, benefits, and taxes consistent with federal and stage wage and hour laws
- Assist the Senior Manager, Payroll, and Systems with ensuring the accurate and timely processing of new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations
- Review eTime incomplete information (e.g., missing punches, missing hours) and the accurate recording of PTO and other leave
- Email managers regarding employee timecards
- Assist with preparing payroll-related documentation and reviews to ensure accuracy before submittal to ADP
- Assist in the critical review and analysis of payroll, benefits, and tax procedures
- Maintain employee payroll files including new-hire paperwork, W4 forms, tax forms, and direct deposit
- Assist in preparation of employee hours and earnings, PTO balances and transits reports biweekly and/or monthly
- Assist with various audit requests and provide supporting information to auditors as needed
- Verify state and local taxation for employees and ensure payroll tax withholding account administration with all federal and state tax agencies
- Conduct training for employees and managers in eTime
- Update access for new hires and terminations
- On a project basis, work with the IT department and external consultant/vendors to support HRIS upgrades, and implementations of interfaces with other HR systems to ensure data integrity and business operations needs
- Send bi-weekly intermittent leave reporting reminders to employees
- Assist the Leave Administration with tracking of employee’s leave documentation
- Track employee’s leave, start, end, and intermittent dates and communicate with carriers, employees, and HR/Payroll on how accrued time will be utilized during the leave of absence based on the leave type
- Respond to all staff and manager inquiries for payroll information
- Maintain current knowledge of the payroll processing systems and changes in wage and tax laws
- Aid with auditing paychecks and related documentation prepared by ADP
Qualifications of the Payroll Coordinator:
- 2 – 4 years of experience with full-cycle payroll processes with both a non-exempt and exempt employee population
- Experience working in an environment with a high volume of leave
- Knowledge and understanding and ability to interpret laws, regulations, and policies that relate to leaves of absence and intermittent time off
- Experience with an ADP WorkforceNow, eTime, Shiftboard and Oracle HCM is preferred
- Proficient at Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Commitment to building an engaging and seamless employee experience
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, follow multiple projects and tasks through to competition, with close attention to detail while contributing to the team environment
- Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, while maintaining strict confidentiality related to sensitive information
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience
