Our client is founded on the premise that health is local. They are currently seeking a Payroll Manager to join their team. They have planted roots in Brooklyn, grown their team, built their technology platform, and are caring for thousands in underserved communities. Today, they partner with health plans to reach people in neighborhoods that face high poverty rates and accompanying social challenges.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$90k – $100k

Position Overview:

The Payroll Manager must be able to come in and keep driving the payroll function.  They need to process payroll from end to end. The Payroll Manager is responsible for ensuring that all payroll tax matters are resolved in a timely manner.

Responsibilities of the Payroll Manager:

  • Driving payroll from end to end
  • Processing of payroll accurately and in a timely manner (per the payroll deadline calendar)
  • Understanding/improving sub-systems/processing to create efficiencies in the payroll process
  • Ensuring that all payroll tax matters are resolved in a timely manner
  • Identifying areas for improvement and producing an action plan to resolve
  • Communicating effectively with all levels in the organization and resolving topics presented

Qualifications of the Payroll Manager:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll
  • Able to multitask and complete projects under tight deadlines
  • Able to work into the details and comfortable with working in a small team
  • Basic knowledge of state tax filings
  • Proficient in Paylocity, Workday, and ADP
  • Experience processing employee volumes of 850+
  • Experience working in a complex, multiple-entity and state business structure

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
