Our client, a global fashion and lifestyle company positioned in the premium segment, is one of the leaders in offering high-quality women’s and men’s apparel. They are currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team. The company pursues a portfolio strategy, currently consisting of two strong brands. While both brands are clearly distinguished by their individual attributes, they share the same high standards in terms of quality, innovation, and sustainability.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$70k – $80k

Position Overview:

The Payroll Specialist will participate in data entry, ensure accurate processing and recording of the company’s US and Canada payrolls, and provide timely responses to employee inquiries. The Payroll Specialist will enter, process, and maintain records of employees across multi-jurisdictions.

Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist:

  • Act as liaison between employees and Payroll regarding questions or issues
  • Partner with the HR team to create and maintain accuracy of all data related to compensation and work with payroll to expedite salary changes and bonus payments
  • Set up new payroll groups and tax registrations
  • Administer paid time off policies
  • Summarize payroll reports at end of month to assist with month-end closing
  • Support both hourly and commission pay
  • Support the corporate side that includes base salary and bonus payout

Qualifications of the Payroll Specialist:

  • 2+ years of experience in payroll, preferably with retail experience
  • Working knowledge of federal and state wage and hour regulations
  • Proficiency in ADP
  • Canadian payroll experience is a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work under deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organized
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
