Our client, a growing consumer product goods corporation, located in Mercer County, NJ, is seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Coordinator to help expand their Supply Chain Department. The only Procurement Coordinators that will be considered must possess the ability to resolve discrepancies and vendor issues regarding order issues. The reason for the Procurement Coordinator opening is due to exponential growth.

Salary: $15 – $19 p/hr DOE Temp ($40,000-$50,000 Perm)

Position Overview: Day to day Procurement Coordinator responsibilities include generating a high volume of purchase orders utilizing company ERP system, daily vendor interaction and discrepancy investigation. The Procurement Coordinator is the liaison between the Senior Purchasing Manager and the organizations customers.  Monthly intercompany purchasing reporting needs will be conducted as well.

Responsibilities of the Procurement Coordinator:

  • Analyze and resolve Purchase order/invoice discrepancies
  • Investigate customer/client complaints and determine if account chargebacks/credits are applicable
  • Shadow Senior Purchasing Manager during negotiations and sourcing of new vendors while simultaneously taking notes
  • Generate a high volume of purchase orders daily
  • Coordinate with department heads on what internal purchasing needs are needed (office supplies, MRO, hardware/software)
  • Coordinate with chargebacks and AR team when customer credits are applicable
  • Analyze customer and vendor purchasing trends to determine future needs
  • Track shipments and ensure deliverable
  • Source additional or replacement freight vendors as needed

Qualifications for the Procurement Coordinator:

  • 1+ years of experience within a purchasing/supply chain position
  • Prior exposure to large ERP system (SAP preferred but not required)
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables and v-look ups)
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationship both internally and externally
  • Strong attention to detail

Education Requirements:

  • BS or AA in Supply Chain Management or 3+ years-experience within procurement function
