Our client, a biotech corporation, is the world-leading science serving platform by providing reliable, high-quality, and innovative reagents and instruments with superior customer service to enable customer success across a wide variety of existing and emerging life science research and development areas. They are currently looking to add a Procurement Specialist to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$85k (DOE) 10% – 12% year-end bonus, negotiable based on the candidacy

Position Overview:

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for all company procurement and purchasing activities, such as purchasing equipment, materials, and supplies. The job requires the use of independent judgment and initiative in the preparation and review of specifications, the receipt of bids or quotations, and the checking of bills and invoices against specifications.

Responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist:

  • Source, select, and negotiate for the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries, and services with suppliers
  • Ensure competent quality execution of all regular purchasing
  • Maintain complete updated purchasing records/data and pricing in the system
  • Coordinate with user departments and suppliers in the purchasing scope of work for projects assigned
  • Support relevant departments with quotations
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of purchase orders and documents in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Plan and manage inventory levels of materials or products

Qualifications of the Procurement Specialist:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a purchasing associate or clerk
  • Working knowledge of project scheduling, purchasing, and shipping processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • GMP experience is mandatory
  • Strong sourcing and contract review ability
  • Ability to draft/modify GMP-compliant purchasing SOPs
  • Good team player with professional integrity, ethics, and confidentiality
  • Good negotiation and time-management skills
  • Prior healthcare/pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred

Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field
