Position Overview: The Product Development Scientist will work in a collaborative team setting to develop new products within with existing product lines. The Product Development Scientist will work cross functionally and have a passion for creativity and innovation in product decision. The Product Development Scientist will need experience bringing new products to market and overseeing the full development cycle. 

Responsibilities of the Product Development Scientist:

  • Collaborate cross functionally to develop new products that showcase creativity and consumer desires 
  • Oversee the product development process and work hands on to develop and execute new ideas
  • Lead, manage and develop direct reports that may be assigned to the project
  • Direct and execute feasibility studies and line trials
  • Conduct assessments of the competitors and industry technology to start on top of new directions
  • Be aware of and respond to concerns from customers, legal apprehensions and keeping a competitive product in the market place
  • Develop technical documents, strategies, and portfolios in relation to the product development process
  • Set and adhere to milestones as well as look for cost saving initiatives along the way

Qualifications for the Product Development Scientist:

  • 5+ years of experience in product development within a highly regulated environment
  • Experience with feasibility studies
  • Experience launching new products and being part of the full product development cycle 
  • Successful execution of line trials
  • Leadership or mentorship experience
  • Proven creativity and innovation in past launches
  • Great communication skills, ability to present information and meet aggressive timelines
  • Detail oriented problem solver with great communication skills 

Education Requirement:

  • BS, MS or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field
