Position Overview:

Our client is seeking an onsite Product Performance Specialist to join the company in its Consumer Science division in Westfield, NJ. This is a unique opportunity for an individual to join a collaborative team that is focused on ensuring customer satisfaction through both qualitative and quantitative research. The successful candidate for this Product Performance Specialist position will be someone who is a self starter, task oriented, and effective communicator with both internal and external teams.

Responsibilities of the Product Performance Specialist:

  • Responsible for managing and tracking studies. This involves designing and carrying out the consumer studies in addition to managing logistics and administrative tasks such as purchase orders
  • Design and review study screeners, questionnaires, and discussion guides
  • Responsible for briefing all partners internally and externally on trial updates regularly
  • Act as the main point of contact for external vendors
  • Initiate, develop, execute and analyze qualitative and quantitative consumer studies and make actionable recommendations that impact product development for future launches and meet business strategies
  • Collaborate with Sensory, Instrumental and Lab teams to help integrate the output of these sciences into the consumer learnings. This involves working with consumers, sensory/consumer scientists, and formulators
  • Translate consumer insights into actionable recommendations to drive exceptional consumer satisfaction
  • Compile, analyze, and present findings to stakeholders

Qualifications of the Product Performance Specialist:

  • Should have relevant experience in consumer research, clinical research, or consumer insights
  • Prior experience working with sensory or consumer panels
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment under short deadlines
  • Interest, passion, and/or prior experience with cosmetic goods such as skincare, makeup, and hair products is highly desired
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, data entry and statistical software programs

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Market Research, Psychology, Sensory Science, Integrated Innovation, Cosmetic Science, or a related field
